24H

24H brings together 149 photographs by 94 contributors from around the world, selected from one thousand submissions to an international open call. Participants were invited to photograph their day, submit between one and five images and to record, for each, the exact time it was taken and a brief description of the moment. Presented in chronological order, the photographs form a collective timeline of a single day as it unfolds across different lives.

Organised by time rather than by author or place, the exhibition draws unexpected parallels between strangers, with moments of striking similarity captured at the exact same time on opposite sides of the world, alongside experiences that couldn’t be more different. This allowed for ordinary and significant moments to appear side by side, without hierarchy, as they do within any single day.

Each photograph is accompanied by a short text written by its contributor. These texts reveal what lies beyond the frame. An apparently ordinary image may describe a life-changing event, while an extraordinary scene may belong to an everyday routine. Together, image and text question the assumption that seeing is the same as understanding.

At a time when images circulate in unprecedented volume and are consumed even faster than they are put out, 24H asks what it means to pay attention to the lives of others.
